Overview

The Jews (circa 13.5 million) are an ethnic group originated in the land of Israel. They primarily speak the Hebrew language, or the language of the countries in which they live.

Most Jews (circa 5.7 million) today live within the borders of independent Israel (see Israelis), or in the United States (circa 5 million). There are significant Jewish minorities in Europe (France, United Kingdom, Germany), South America (Argentina, Brazil), Russia, Australia, and other countries.
