David Nieto

David Nieto (1654-1728) was an Italian Jewish scholar and physician, active in Venice, Italy, and Livorno, Italy before moving to London, England in 1702 to lead the local Sephardic community. Defended the authority and antiquity of the Oral Torah against the attacks of the "new-Karaites", like Uriel Acosta.
