Biography
Dora Altarac was born October 13, 1936 in Sarajevo, Bosnia, to Leone Altarac and Estera Papo. As refugees from Yugoslavia, the family (mother and daughters) arrived at Spalato, Dalmatia. They were sent as civilian internees to Asti in December 1941, and Ferramonti in May 1943. Liberated at Ferramonti on Sept 10, 1943. In July 1944 they sailed from Naples to Fort Ontario, United States.
