KZ RICHENAU

The majority of Libyan Jews were deported from Italy to Bergen-Belsen. However some of them were sent to Richenau, Austria, in January 1944. According to CDEC, 59 were the Libyan Jews deportated from Italy to Reichenau. 2 perished and 57 survived. In April 1944 they were transferred to Vettel> (France), where they remained until liberation.

Among the deportees were 26 children. They all survived.
