Overview
The Swedes are an ethnic group that primarily inhabit Sweden and speak the Swedish language (circa 14 million worldwide).
Most Swedes today live within the borders of independent Sweden (circa 8 million). There are Swedish minorities in nearby Finland, Norway, and Denmark, and sizeable populations of immigrants and their descendants in Spain, Canada, the United States, and other countries.
