Biography
Derritt (25 Apr 25 1938) and Ruth (13 Nov 1943) were the children of Polish parents, Efraim Blumenkranz and Bertha Goldstein. The family (father, mother and daughter Derrit) arrived in Italy as refugees in Genoa, Italy in 1940. Interned in Guardiagrele (Chieti) from Sep 1940 to Sep 1943. They were in hiding in Central Italy when Ruth was born, until liberation in Summer 1944. In July 1944 they arrived at Fort Ontario.
