Katja Tenenbaum (F / Poland / Italy, 1942), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Katja (Katrin) Tenenbaum was born July 1, 1942 at Sora (Frosinone), Italy, to Modko Tenenbaum and Ursula Steinitz. As refugees in Italy, they were sent in the province of Frosinone. After Sept 1943 they lived in hiding in Rome, until liberation in June 1944. They ended in the Cinecitta DP camp.

Her experience was featured in the documentary Paper Lives: The Little Known Story of Foreign Jews Interned in Italy.
