Biography

Hanna (Anna) Buchler was born April 29, 1942 in Malo (near Vicenza), Italy, to Serbian parents (Arpad Buchler and Renè Zeitlin). In 1941, the family (father, mother and three siblings) had arrived as refugees in Malo, near Vicenza, Italy, where Hanna was born. They remained at Malo until Sept 14, 1943; then they went into hiding until liberation. In July 1944, father, mother and the four siblings sailed to Fort Ontario, United States. Father died at the camp on February 19, 1945.
