Lia Diener (F / Austria, 1936), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Heinrich Degen was born January 28, 1936 in Vienna, Austria, to Karol Diener and Elza Ringelbaum. Refugees in Italy, the family went to Libya as part of the Benghasi Group. From Lybia they were sent to Ferramonti in September 1940 and then in KZ Orsogna (near Chieti) in October 1941. They survived in hiding during the German occupation.
