Overview

The Transfiguration in Fiction

The iconography of the Transfiguration is that of an intimate mystical experience that involves Jesus and three of his disciples in a remote and solitary location. By including the Miracle of the Possessed Boy, Raphael and Peter Paul Rubens transformed the scene into a crowded public event.
