Overview The Armenians are an ethnic group that primarily inhabit Armenia and nearby countries and speak the Armenian language (circa 10 million). Most Armenians today live within the borders of independent Armenia (circa 3,000,000). There are Armenians minorities in nearby Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey, and sizeable populations of immigrants and their descendants in Russia, the United States, France, Lebanon, and other countries.
