Gourgen Yanikian (1895-1984) was an Armenian-American novelist. An Armenian genocide survivor and a student of engineering at the University of Moscow, moved to the United States where he wrote a number of novels. In 1973 he assassinated two Turkish consular officials in California to draw attention on the Armenian genocide and was sentenced to life in prison.
