Initiated and financed by Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros (1436-1517) at the University of Alcalá de Henares (Complutum). Among the collaborators of Diego López de Zúñiga were Juan de Vergara, Nunez de Guzman (Pincianus), Antonio de Librixa (Nebrissensis), and Demetrius Ducas. The Bible included the first printed editions of the Greek New Testament, the complete Septuagint, and the Targum Onkelos. The project began in 1502 and the printing was completed in 1517.
