Biography
Anita (Zagreb, Croatia, 25 May 1938) and Aleksander (Posina, Italy, 12 Aug 1942) were the children of Francesco Fried and Irena Pavusa. The family fled as refugees to Spalato, Dalmazia. They were transferred to Italy as civilian internees They were in Vicenza (loc. Posina) from Nov 1941 to Sep 1943. They survived in hiding in Central Italy until Summer 1944. In July 1944 they arrived at Fort Ontario.
