Biography
Maria Mühlstein was born on 31 March 1932. She was deported to Terezin from Prague on 17 December 1941, together with his mother (Margit Mühlstein, 1897-1944) and older brothers (Pintǎ Mühlstein, 1929-1944; and Eliahu Gabriel Mühlstein, 1930-1944). The father (Viktor Mühlstein, 1892-1934) had passed away a few years earlier.
In Teresin, Maria Mühlstein distinguished herself as one of the more talented young vocalists in the camp. She was part of the main cast of the opera Brundibar, where she played alternatively the roles of Aninka and the sparrow, while his brother Pintǎ Mühlstein was Pepiček.
Maria Mühlstein was deported with her entire family from Terezin to Auschwitz on 16 October 1944. None of them survived.
