The International Qur’anic Studies Association (IQSA), the first learned society dedicated to the study of the Qur’an, began its annual meetings as an SBL affiliate in november 2013 at Baltimore, MD. Two international meetings were also organized: at St. Andrews, Scotland (in 2013), and Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2015).

In 2013 the Early Islamic Studies Seminar: International Scholarship on the Qur’ān and Islamic Origins (EISS) was founded in association with the Enoch Seminar. In June 2015 the EISS held its first meeting at Gazzada, near Milan, Italy; see Early Islam: The Sectarian Milieu of Late Antiquity? / 4th Nangeroni Meeting (2015 Milan), conference.
