Biography
Renè Weiss was born February 24, 1928 in Brunn (Brno), Czechia, to Richard Weiss and Emmy Patak. She had an older sister Annalore (b.1924). Refugees in Italy, in May 1940 they joined the Benghasi Group and went to Libya, hoping to sail to Palestine. From Lybia they were sent to Ferramonti in September 1940 and then to Perugia in September 1941 and to Norcia in April 1942. After Sept 1943, they survived in hiding until liberation. In August 1944 they were in Bari, Italy.
