Biography

Renate Reutlinger / Ronnie Breslow was born in 1930 in Kirchheim, Germany. In 1939 Renate and her mother were among the passengers of the MS St. Louis. Father had been already able to reach the United States. After arriving in Cuba, the family was not allowed to disembark. They were sent back to Europe. They disembarked in the Netherlands. A few months later they eventually gained safe passage to the U.S. and reunited with father in Philadelphia in November 1939.
