Regina Zimmet (F / Germany, 1931), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Regina Zimmet was born in 1931 in Lipsia, Germany, to a Romanian family, Fischel Zimmet and Rosalia Fischbein. As refugees in Italy, in May 1940 they joined the Benghasi Group and went to Libya, hoping to reach Palestine. From Libya they were sent to Ferramonti in September 1940, then to Serina (BG) in October 1941, to Giovanni Bianco (BG) in 1942, and back to Serina in November 1942. They survived in hiding during the German occupation. In 1944 they were at San Bello (SO).
