Biography

Martha Abel was born March 1, 1938 [not Feb 29, 1934 (?)] in Romania (?), to Jewish-Romanian parents, Edmund Abel and Charlotte Hirsch. Listed as a "school girl", she arrived in Switzerland aboard the Kastner Train in December 1944, after spending some months in Bergen-Belsen.
