Johannes Gutenberg (1400ca-1468) was a German printer and publisher who first introduced printing to Europe with the printing press. His major work, the Gutenberg Bible was the first printed version of the Bible around 1450. Gutenberg might also be the printer of the Bamberg Bible in 1458-60. La publication of the Gutenberg Bible marks the beginning of the modern study of Second Temple Judaism and Christian Origins.
