Biography

Zlata Lipa (3 Oct 1935) and Jarmila Lipa (27 Nov 1937) were born in Zagreg, Croatia to Franjo (Francesco) Lipa and Elvira Bosan Lipa. Father, Mother and children fled to Slovenia (Ljubljana) (then under Italian occupation). From there they were transferred as civilian internees to Como. In May 1942 they were at Carate Urio. They managed to escape to Switzerland in Sep-Oct 1943.
