L'Alcoran de Mahomet <French> / The Alcoran of Mahomet (1647) is a book by André Du Ryer.

Abstract

"Translaté d'arabe en français."

First translation of the Quran into French (and into any modern European language), directly from the Arabic text. All previous European translations (in Italian, German, and Dutch) were based on the 1143 Latin translation by Robert of Ketton. Du Ryer's work was translated into English, Dutch, German and Russian.
