Biography

Beatrice (4 Nov 1934) and Erika (24 May 1936) Lehrer were born in Zagreb, Croatia, to Giulio Lehrer and Stella Scheratter. The family fled to Ljubljana, Slovenia (then under Italian occupation). From there they was transferred as civilian internees to Chieti (loc. Lanciano) and then to Rovigo (loc. Adria). They managed to escape to Switzerland in Sep-Oct 1943.
