Biography

Jonah Fuks (1928) and Chaim Fuks (1930) were born in Tuszyn, near Lodz, Poland. From the Piotrkow Ghetto they were deported to KZ Czestochowa, Buchenwald, and Nordhausen>. In the closing days of the war, Chaim was sent Theresienstadt, where he was liberated. Jonah instead managed to go back to Poland and from there reached his brother at Theresienstadt.

As orphans, both brothers were included among the Windermere Children who in August 1945 went to England. Chaim remained in England, while Jonah moved to the United States in 1956.
