Child John the Baptist with Jesus depicts the meetings between the two young "cousins," John the Baptist and Jesus of Nazareth. Only occasionally the two children are portrayed alone. Usually they are with Jesus' mother Mary of Nazareth, and sometimes with other relatives, notably, Jesus's father Joseph of Nazareth and John's mother Elizabeth.
