Overview

The Hebrew Bible (the Jewish Tanakh; roughly corresponding to the Christian Old Testament) is a collection of ancient Jewish texts, which the Rabbis regarded as normative. The entire collection took shape in the Second Temple period, and some documents were also authored in that period.
