Joazar ben Boethus was the Jewish High Priest, 4 BCE, under Herod the Great.

Overview

Joazar ben Boethus was appointed High Priest in 4 BCE by Herod the Great, succeeding Matthias ben Theophilus.

Jaozar was eventually replaced by Eleazar ben Boethus in the same year, after the death of Herod the Great.
