Henry Hart Milman (1791-1868) was a British scholar, poet and playwright.
Biography
English historian, cleric, and poet. Born in London in an aristocratic family. He received his formal education under the tutelage of Dr. Burney at Greenwich, and subsequently at Eton College and Brasenose College. An acclaimed poet, Milman published several poems on Second Temple Period Judaism and Christian Origins. Author of the first modern history of the Jews from the earliest period to the author’s time. Died in London and was buried in St. Paul's Cathedral.
