Simon the Cyrenian (1917) is a play by Ridgely Torrence.

Abstract

The All-Black drama was one of the Three Plays for a Negro Theatre by the white lyric poet Ridgely Torrence. Simon was said to have been a black African who had carried Jesus' cross to Calvary. The play marks a turning-point in the way Afro-Africans were presented on the American stage.
