Josef Holzner (1877-1947) was a German author. Born in Dorfen, Upper Bavaria, after high school he studied at Rome at the Germanicum Institute of philosophy and theology and was ordained a priest on October 28, 1901. He was chaplain in World War I, a pastor in Lenggries (Upper Bavaria) and later religion teacher in a Gymnasium in Monaco. His work on Paul has been one of the most successful biographies on the Apostle. Holzner died in Munich, Germany.
