Mariamne <French> (1724) is a play by Monsieur de Voltaire.

Abstract

Editions, performances

Mariamne premiered in Paris [France]: Comédie-Française, 6 March 1724, and was a complete failure. The Author revised the drama the following year with a new title (Hérode et Mariamne) and greater success. A third version of the drama was presented in 1762.
