Schalom Ben-Chorin (1913-1999) was a German Jewish scholar.

Biography

Born in Munich, Germany on July 20, 1913. A student at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, in 1935 migrated to Palestina, where he worked as a journalist (1935-1970). A liberal Jew, was engaged in the Christian-Jewish dialogue. From 1970 to 1987 taught courses at the Universities of Jerusalem, Tübingen and Munich, on Christian-Jewish relations. Died in Jerusalem on May 7, 1999.
