Le Juif errant <French> / The Wandering Jew (1852) is an opera by Fromental Halévy (mus.), and Eugène Scribe and Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges (libr.).
Abstract
Loosely based on Le Juif errant (1844-1845 Sue), novel, the opera begins in Amsterdam in 1190 and the Wandering Jew, Ahasverus, is now the leading character.
