In 1912 the Synod of the Finnish Church appointed a Committee to revise the text of the Finnish Bible. The original members of the Committee were S.E. Stenij, who died in 1925 and was replaced by [[Antii F. Puukko]], T.J. Schwartzberg, who died in 1915 and was replaced by R.F.P. Oinonen for a year and later by J.A. Mannermaa, and A.L.M.
