Written in German in two parts, was first published in English, translated by Clarissa Graves: The second part was published first: The Tentmaker (1951 Berstl), novel; the first part followed, The Cross and the Eagle (1954 Berstl), novel. The German edition appeared only in the 1960s in Germany (Stuttgart: Quell, 1965).
Summary
Tells the experience of Paul, from his youth as a sixteen-year-old student at Jerusalem until his conversion and return to Tarsus, and from the beginning of his missionary activity until his death
