Works on Second Temple Judaism

Between 1959 and 1962, Antonio Frova was the director of the Italian Archaeological Mission at Caesarea Maritima in Israel, where he excavated the Herodian Theater and found the famous inscription bearing the name of Pontius Pilate, preafectus of Judea. The inscription, now at the Archaeological Museum in Jerusalem, is the only epigraphical evidence of the existence of Pontius Pilate.
