Biography

Herman Amsterdam was born October 26, 1930 in Mielec, Poland. In the Fall 1942 Herman and father left the ghetto and lived in hide-outs in the woods with dozens of other Jews. In spite of several round-ups and killings (father also died), Herman survived. On 27 November 1944, they succeeded to cross the front.
