Stories from the Life of John the Baptist (1490) is a cycle of frescoes by Domenico Ghirlandaio.

Abstract

The cycle includes eight scenes from the life of John the Baptist:

History and current location

The frescoes were made to decorate the right wall of the Tornabuoni Chapel, the main chapel in the church of Santa Maria Novella, Florence [Italy]. The left wall was decorated with Stories from the Life of Mary (1490 Ghirlandaio), art. The entire cycle of frescoes is well-preserved in its original location.
