William Auspitz (M / Hungary, 1930), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Auspitz was born 28 June 1930 in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary.

In May 1944 he was forced to live in the Niris Ghetto before being deported to Auschwitz and then Orenienberg, Ordruff, Buchenwald, Flossenburg and Starmaried.

After liberation, he arrived at the UNRRA children’s home in DP Kloster Indersdorf near Dachau on 27 August 1945.

Hw was one of the Southampton Children, arriving in England in late October 1945. After six years, he emigrated to the United States in 1951.
