Vilmos György (Ze’ev HaKohen) Stern was born July 2, 1935 in Budapest, the youngest of three children of Chaim Stern, who owned a textile factory supplying goods to the Hungarian government.
When Hungary was invaded by Nazi Germany in March 1944, Stern along with his family, escaped on the [[Kastner Train]]. Listed as a "student" he reached Switzerland in December 1944 after some months in [[Bergen-Belsen]].
William George Stern had a career as a businessman most notable as the owner of the British Stern Group of companies.

Biography

Vilmos György (Ze’ev HaKohen) Stern was born July 2, 1935 in Budapest, the youngest of three children of Chaim Stern, who owned a textile factory supplying goods to the Hungarian government.

When Hungary was invaded by Nazi Germany in March 1944, Stern along with his family, escaped on the Kastner Train. Listed as a "student" he reached Switzerland in December 1944 after some months in Bergen-Belsen.

William George Stern had a career as a businessman most notable as the owner of the British Stern Group of companies.
