Abstract
"This volume offers the Spanish translation of 200 non-biblical Qumran Scrolls grouped together according to their subject and literary genre (rules and halakhic documents, eschatological writings, exegetical texts, para-biblical literature, poetic compositions, liturgical writings, astronomical works, calendars and horoscopes, the Copper Scroll) plus an extensive introduction to the literature from Qumran adapted from Florentino García Martínez's and Mathias Delcor's previous Spanish monograph published in 1982 (Introducción a la literatura esenia de Qumrán (1982 Delcor/García Martínez), book), and a list of all the manuscripts available in 1992, distributed by cave number. The biblical scrolls and those manuscripts too fragmentary and still unidentified in 1992 are omited from the translation, which covers, therefore, ca. 1/4 of the Qumran literature. No critical apparatus is provided by the author. Since no further Spanish translation of the Scrolls has been so far published, this volume remains the most important working tool in Spanish language for the study of the literature from Qumran." -- Carlos A. This volume offers the Spanish translation of 200 non-biblical Qumran Scrolls grouped together according to their subject and literary genre (rules and halakhic documents, eschatological writings, exegetical texts, para-biblical literature, poetic compositions, liturgical writings, astronomical works, calendars and horoscopes, the Copper Scroll) plus an extensive introduction to the Qumran literature as a whole and a list of all the manuscripts available in 1992, distributed by cave number. The biblical scrolls and those manuscripts too fragmentary and still unidentified in 1992 are omited from the translation, which covers, therefore, ca. 1/4 of the Qumran literature.
