Biography

Witold (24 Dec 1928) & Janusz "Jan" (13 Feb 1932) were born in Krakow, Poland, the children of Leopold and Fryderyka Schlesinger. Their entire family was murdered.

"The authors lived in Kraków, in December 1940 they moved with their mother to Niepołomice, after their father returned from Romania, the whole family moved to Bochnia. After the liquidation of the ghetto in Bochnia, they found themselves in the camp in Szebnie, from there their parents were transported to Auschwitz, and the authors to the camp in Pustków. Living conditions in the camp. After the camp was evacuated, the authors were taken to Auschwitz, and from there to the labor camp in Gliwice. Circular evacuation to Blechhammer, mass escape of prisoners."
