Simon Braitman (M / Poland, 1930-2021), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Born in Poland, in 1930, Mr. Braitman suffered unspeakable hardships under the Nazi occupation that killed most of his extended family, including his mother and two siblings. He worked in a German munitions factory and in other work camps around Europe, including a sub-camp of Auschwitz, before he was liberated in May 1945 at Gunskirchen by soldiers of the U.S. Army's 71st Infantry Division. He was 15.
