Mikhail I. Verevkin (1732-1795) was a Russian scholar, playwright, translator, and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His translation of the Qur'an also derived from the French version by André Du Ryer. Pushkin used Verevkin's translation when writing his "Imitations of the Koran," see Подражания Корану (Imitations of the Qur'an / 1826 Pushkin), poetry.
