Biography

Marcel Bulka was born Sept 29, 1930 in Poland. The family moved from Poland to After the German invasion, he and his brother Albert were among the 44 children hosted in France at the children's Home in Izieu. They were all deported and murdered at Auschwitz.

French Children of the Holocaust

Majer (Marcel) BULKA was born on September 29, 1930, in Kalisz, Poland, and his brother Albert on June 28, 1939, in Ougrée-Liège, Belgium. They were among the 44 children in the group home in Izieu. Their parents were interned in the camp at Rivesaltes. The children had been able to leave the camp, and went to the children's home in Palavas-les-Flots (Hérault). Their mother, Roizel, was transferred from Rivesaltes to Drancy and deported on September 11, 1942, on convoy 31. Their father, Mosiek-Cham, was transferred from Rivesaltes to Gurs on February 26, 1943, from there to Drancy on March 2, 1943, and was deported two days later on convoy 50 to Madanek and Sobibor. The two brothers were deported on convoy 71 of April 13, 1944.
