Lorenzo de' Medici (1449-1492) was an Italian statesman and de facto ruler of Florence, one of the most powerful and influential politicians of the Renaissance but also an accomplished writer, philosopher and playwright. Like his mother Lucrezia Tornabuoni, was the author of poetical works of biblical subject.
