Biography

Pietro (January 5, 1925) and Lorenzo Arthur (November 17, 1930) Castelnuovo-Tedesco were born in Florence, Italy, the sons of composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco and Clara Forti. In 1939, after the Racial Laws, the family fled to the United States and settled in California where father had a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a film composer.

Pietro was the Blakemore Professor of Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University. Lorenzo was an artist and architect.
