La naissance, la vie et la mort de N.-S. Jésus-Christ <French> / The Birth, the Life and the Death of Christ (France, 1906) is a feature film (silent, B&W, 33m), directed by Alice Guy-Blaché.
Abstract
This innovative production, based on the work of Tissot, parted from the traditional theatrical approach of the first Passion plays and opened the path to the great Jesus movies of the 1910s. This was the first encounter of film director Alice Guy-Blaché (and assistant director Victorin Jasset) with the Jesus narrative. The report of a Guy movie on Jesus in 1898-99 is due to a confusion in some sources with the Hatot film of 1898.
