Ève <French> / Eve (1875) is an oratorio by Jules Massenet (mus. and libr.). Based on the on the French translation of the Vulgate by Silvestre de Sacy

Abstract

Oratorio en trois parties.

The oratorio is a recounting of the biblical story of the Conquest of the Land.

The only personage is the Narrator (called La Voix), who recounts the words of Moses and Joshua. The Chorus represents the people of Israel.
